Beyond career, Bro. Hinton is driven to be of service. Through Omicron Chi Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., in Boston, MA, Brother Hinton has taken the initiative to engage with collegiate students to prepare them for the professional world. Whether developing social action programs in areas such as election protection that serve the greater community of Massachusetts, or leading research programs to build robust awareness of figures in Black History beyond those normally in the headlines, Bro. Hinton has imparted a systematic approach to teaching his undergraduate Brothers the skills necessary to build and manage projects. Skills that they can then teach to their projects’ volunteers, thereby improving the professionalism and career-readiness of all involved. Bro. Hinton’s primary objective is to give the youth of our community a competitive advantage as they graduate from college and enter the job market. Bro. Hinton asserts:
The skill sets that I am imparting are in universal demand, but short supply. I would be doing a disservice to my young brothers and sisters if I did not share what I have learned. Phi Beta Sigma, with its 107-year legacy of service and the geographic breadth of its reach, provides me with the perfect vehicle through which to serve in the best way that I can: coaching and mentoring.
Bro. Hinton earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 1994 from Tufts University. He earned his Juris Doctorate at Widener University Delaware Law School in 1998. Bro. Hinton is a member of the NJ and MD bar associations and is a licensed health and life insurance producer in multiple states from Massachusetts to Georgia.
