Bro. Kareem Nunally-Rivera
Brother Kareem Nunally-Rivera is an associate scientist at SQZ Biotechnologies developing cell therapies for patients with cancer and other serious conditions. Previous thereto, Bro. Nunally-Rivera worked as an associate scientist in assay engineering at Cannon Life Sciences. He also worked as a manufacturing engineer where he developed advanced technology to build better blood testing analyzers for medical use at NOVA Medical. Most recently, Bro. Kareem has decided to combine several of his passions and interests in health into an eventual career in medicine. He currently holds an acceptance at UConn School of Medicine and has upcoming interviews with schools in Massachusetts as well. His hopes are to increase the number of underrepresented students in S.T.E.M. fields, improve health outcomes in urban communities, and continue efforts in diversifying the workforce to deliver more equitable healthcare. Bro. Nunnally-Rivera’s commitment to giving back to his community is currently realized through the mentorship he provides to Northeastern University co-op students who are seeking careers in technology and medicine.
Bro. Nunally-Rivera attended Northeastern University in 2014 where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering and a minor in Biochemical Engineering. During the 2011 fall semester of his middler (third) year, he was initiated into the Beta Alpha chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. In 2018, Bro. Nunally-Rivera earned a Master of Science of Biotechnology from Johns Hopkins University.
