Bro. Reverend Luther M. Fuller
Brother Reverend Luther M. Fuller graduated from the New England Conservatory (NEC) in 1932. He specialized in musicology. He was the first African American to earn a bachelor’s degree from the NEC as was a winner of the NEC Endicott Award for Composition with piano accompaniment. His academic thesis at NEC was titled "The religious songs of the American Negro." Bro. Rev. Fuller earned a Masters of Sacred Theology degree at Gordon College where he was also was a professor. Bro. Rev. Fuller would earn 6 more degrees while a student in Boston from multiple universities including a Master’s degree from Boston University. Bro. Rev. Fuller ultimately settled in New York State where he became a minister of the Gospel. Bro. Rev. Fuller was initiated into Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., via Pi Beta Sigma Chapter in 1930. There he served as the chapter’s first Chapter Chaplain.
