Bro. Mark Robertson (SING)
Hailing from Philly, singer, songwriter, and performing artist, SING, has written songs for recording artists across the globe including hometown heroes Boyz II Men (“As Long As I’m With You”, 2013) and K-Pop singing group Oh My Girl (“Tic Toc”, 2019). SING’s roots are firmly secured in Rhythm & Blues, but his musical genius has led him to pioneer a new style of music which he coins Alternative R&B. This past year, SING was accepted into the National Recording Academy’s Class of 2020. SING was initiated into Beta Alpha Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., in 2003 while attending the Berklee School of Music as a Music Business Major.
As the former lead singer of the sensational R&B group, AHMIR, SING was an integral part of the group's success which includes signing a record deal, headlining two European Tours, performing on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and sharing the stage with Demi Lovato. SING has now gone solo, releasing his debut “Dirty Truth” EP in April of 2020. Dirty Truth is a collection of songs written and performed by SING in his very own unique and creative style, Alternative R&B. Since its release, his original song “Don’t Ever” has won 2 International Independent Music Video Awards (IIMVAs) in the R&B/ Soul and Rock categories. SING has also been accepted into the National Recording Academy’s Class of 2020, and with the current state of our world, SING looks forward to releasing new music now more than ever.
SING wrote his latest single "Why We Say Their Names" at the height of the racial injustice issues we saw and felt in 2020. This single is a powerful rebuke of racism and its corroding effect upon America’s politics. SING shares:
…we say their names so their lives and stories will never be forgotten and we won't stop until justice is served, liberty and equality are had by all, and the chains of systemic racism in the U.S.A. are broken.
This protest anthem along with "Dirty Truth" can be found on all music streaming platforms!
