Bro. Warren Brathwaite
Senior Police Officer, Bro. Brathwaite served the Herndon Police Department (Virginia) for 25 years. Bro. Brathwaite joined the department after working for the city of Boston as a civil engineer. Bro. Brathwaite received the Distinguished Service Award in 2015 for 21 years of dedicated service to the community of Herndon and to his fellow police officers. Bro. Brathwaite’s commitment to the community was not just as a protector, but as a mentor, as well, a role he performed with great vigor. Bro. Brathwaite led the Herndon Police Department’s Youth Services Program for five years from 2005 to 2009. The local Herndon Youth Center praised Bro. Brathwaite for his interventions stating that “he met with students up to 3 times per week… helping to give the children something [constructive] to do….” Outside of the Police Department, Bro. Brathwaite also served in volunteer roles coaching the youth of Herndon. Bro. Brathwaite’s Distinguished Service Award officially included an official commendation recognizing Bro. Brathwaite for transforming many young lives in [Herndon].” Bro. Brathwaite officially retired from the Herndon Police Department in 2020. He now serves in a new role, protecting the judges and visitors at the local courthouse.
